I had the absolute pleasure of attending this year's London Fashion Week; all-in-all it was an amazing experience and gave me a real insight into the world of .. well, fashion!
Friday was day one and was probably the busiest day considering everyone was bustling around trying to get press passes and making all sorts of appointments (I had a makeover at MAC and it was absolutely amazing!) I also went today, which was much quieter. The only disappointment was the lousy weather! Trying to take pictures in the rain was a risky business but that didn't stop anyone!
So, day one...

On Friday I went to a showcase for German designer Kilian Kerner, which took place at the Waldorf Hilton hotel on the Strand. The exhibition was beautiful; held in a giant marble room with chandeliers and music played by jazz pianist Greg Foat, it was the perfect place to represent the elegance and sophistication of Kerner's red-carpet collection theme. He incorporated mostly white, black, navy and gold into his assortment of evening dresses, and focused on using certain colours and patterns to create more than one piece with different lengths and cuts.
I met fellow bloggers Shope and Shore from London's Closet here as well (http://www.londons-closet.com/) and enjoyed some free champagne!
Later on, my friend and I managed to get backstage passes to Fashion Scout, which was held nearby at Freemason's Building. Backstage was pretty hectic - I got a good insight into how much work and effort is put into making a really good catwalk show!
The Spring / Summer 2014 collection by the designer Ping He is described as embodying 'a dark romance with a modern twist'. The colour palette was very monochromatic; peplum style and leather as well as laser-cut details were all featured among the collection, making it very dramatic but also wearable and top quality. The models donned big, high buns with a striking black or white stripe down the back of their hair as well as dark lipstick and silvery white make-up to give the collection an almost dream-like feel.
