Kiehl's BB Cream Review

Hello,

Just wanted to do a quick review on a product that I have recently discovered .. and bloody love!!

The full name of the product (by Kiehl's) is Actively Correcting and Beautifying BB Cream. I've never bought any sort of make-up from Kiehl's - in fact, I hardly ever set foot in the shop if I'm honest - but someone offered it to me to try and I'm so glad I did! I am slightly disappointed that it's so expensive, but I am seriously considering repurchasing it, and I'll tell you why...

So this retails for £23.50 and comes in a very small tube, which is also slightly annoying (only 40ml.) However, I generally only use a pea-sized amount for my whole face, so a little does go a long way. It has a rather strange smell but goes onto the skin so very smoothly.

                   Before                                                                         After

It's quite hard to even see the difference through pictures but I would say this BB cream gives a 'your skin but better' look. It evened out my skin tone and made my pores look practically non-existent (even though they were quite small to begin with.) Sometimes I will use this by itself just for a fresh no make-up kinda look and sometimes I use this alongside concealer and powder and it looks so lovely and not cakey at all - just as if I'm someone with naturally amazing skin.

There are only four shades available, which isn't so good. I use the lightest one, which is 'Fair' and it blended in really well but I'm not sure how versatile the other shades would be.

The product also has an SPF of 50, which is great for those with sensitive skin. It would be great to wear in summer as it wouldn't feel too heavy and would protect your skin from the sun as well.

All in all, I am really impressed with this product and I can see why it is pretty expensive. I want to repurchase it but I might have to see how my funds are looking in the new year!

Merry Christmas!

FOTD: 17/12/14 *Festive Edition!*

Hello everyone,

Today we are having a Christmas dinner with my flat before we all go home for the holidays; as you can tell, I'm pretty excited, so decided to do a festive FOTD for you all!

Before I applied any make-up, I went through my normal skincare routine. Click here to see the previous FOTD post, where you will find the products I use before any cosmetics...

As you can see, I've got a few spots in the chin area. Recently my skin has just been breaking out like there's no tomorrow and I'm not entirely sure why but hey-ho, what can you do?!

1. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
As usual, I applied this concealer as an alternative to foundation because it's very good coverage and lasts a long while.
2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
To target the little blemishes and my little friends that have popped up recently, I used my favourite concealer.
3. MAC Strobe Cream
This is a lovely highlighter that comes in a liquid form and surprisingly smells really good! I put this on the tops of my cheekbones, my nose, my cupid's bow and my chin. This is my favourite part of the look as festive make-up is all about the shimmer!
4. Collection Pressed Powder
I used this to set everything on my face, avoiding the areas that I highlighted.
5. MAC Brow Set
This is a fantastic product that I use to keep my brows in place for the whole day. It's a gel formula so dries after you have achieved your desired shape.

Halfway through, my face was looking like a good base for the rest of the make-up:

6. Sleek Divine Palette in The Original 594
This palette is full of shimmery colours, perfect for this look. However, I used the one pictured below, which was quite a light colour, as I didn't want to go too heavy on the eyes.

7. Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner
I didn't do a very significant line or flick; I started halfway and went outwards just to give my eyes a bit of definition.
8. Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner
This went over the top of the felt tip liner.
9. Eyeko Eye Do Mascara
I recently started using this mascara and even though at first I wasn't really that impressed with it, over time I have grown to like it and now I can't stop using it! I love the formula and it's not clumpy at all so there's no chance of getting spidery lashes. Instead, it's great at lengthening but also adding volume to my lashes.
10. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
This went on my waterline to open up my eyes.
11. Clinique Chubby Stick in Broadest Berry
Finally, I finished my make-up with a crayon from Clinique, which I thought would be a really nice alternative to your classic red. As I said before, I wanted to keep the eyes quite simple, so I opted for a bolder lip in a berry shade, which also went well with the outfit I wore.

Here's the finished look...

Now for some Christmas dinner! Nom nom nom

Hey y'all,

Well, I managed to get about 90% of my Christmas shopping done today - hooray! Can't believe 'tis the season already .. where does the time go, eh?!

Love dungarees - so unbelievably comfy. Really loving the vintage feel of this outfit - the denim, the oversized cardigan, the trainers and the curly hair too, I suppose. This outfit pretty much speaks for itself. It's cold outside but there's not always the need to dress like you're going to a funeral, or have come straight out of Twilight.

See you next time,

Hello,

What a beautiful day it was today! I love the clear, hazy Winter skies, the crispness of the air and all that good stuff .. but I probably should start dressing accordingly. Anyway, I still love this outfit regardless. I've suddenly become incredibly unintentionally punky .. but its all good.

Love the shirt round the waist trend atm. Once again, we have turned to all black as you literally can never go wrong with doing so. Rediscovered my gold dinosaur necklace; absolutely love this piece as it's so unique and looks more expensive than it was.

I can't wait for Christmas! What are you guys doing for Christmas and New Year's?
