London Fashion Week September 2014 - Tuesday the 16th

Hi all,

Today was the final day of London Fashion Week and I decided to use this day as my pampering day - getting my hair done at Toni & Guy by the lovely Valentina and my make-up done at Maybelline. I also attended a presentation in the afternoon, but first let's get onto what I wore for Day 5...

Top: New Look
Skirt: Charity shop
Socks: eBay
Shoes: eBay
Bag: Missguided.co.uk
Necklaces: Accessorize
Rings: Topshop and H&M
Nails: 'Malibu Green' nail lacquer by American Apparel

Today I felt like a Japanese schoolgirl, despite the fact that this awesome skirt is below the knee. I got it at a charity shop for about £3, which is not even a bargain .. it's beYOND a bargain. I really am going to start shopping at more vintage stores, as I like the quirky style and of course it is so much cheaper. I paired the skirt with this powder blue top and gold / silver jewellery to give it quite an elegant feel. I couldn't stay away from my gothic shoes, though. As I was getting my hair and make-up done, I'm pretty much au natural in these pics, apart from some mascara and a bit of foundation.

I went to see Tata Naka's SS15 Presentation at the Royal Academy of Arts as I mentioned before. Tamara and Natasha Surguladze are the identical twins behind the brand, and having researched some of their previous collections, it seems as if they have something quite quirky that they like to add to their collections. This one was quite monochrome, but the cuts of the dresses were very funky and untypical. I think they were the centrepoint of everything because the hair, make-up, shoes and colours were all very simple.

^ One of the designers. Love her outfit!

Cosmopolitan #FashFest Lingerie Show - London Fashion Week 2014

Hi guys,

In celebration of London Fashion Week, Cosmopolitan magazine is holding five events over five days and I was lucky enough to attend their opening event last night – a spectacular lingerie show held in Marylebone.
There were lots of brands on the scene, brands such as Very, ASOS, Wonderbra, Freya and more. There was also free hair styling by Paul Mitchell, make-up by Urban Decay, eyebrow threading, nails, face mapping by Dermalogica and spray tanning, so it was very busy indeed before the show started!

Editor-in-chief of Cosmo Louise Court introduced the show with some facts about the all-important subject of women’s breasts. 70 to 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size here in the UK and this is partly due to the fact that unfortunately, appearance often comes before comfort. However, it is incredibly important to look after your breasts and it is equally important to check them regularly.  Louise Court introduced the founder of a charity called CoppaFeel!, Kris Hallenga. Kris explained to us that she was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of years ago and unfortunately, she was too far gone to be cured and therefore she will have to live with the disease for the rest of her life. Her charity encourages underwear companies to include a label on their bras which reads ‘checking your boobs could save your life’. I think it's amazing that so many companies has taken CoppaFeel! on board, and I hope more and more continue to do so!

As for the lingerie itself, I was thoroughly impressed by the catwalk show and my self-esteem plummeted pretty drastically after it had finished, as you might have expected (legs, bums and tums to die for!) It was such a glamorous evening, with free cocktails and wine, snacks and a gorgeous goodie bag.

Overall, the event was definitely worth going to; I hadn't expected it to be so glamorous and I will definitely be going to the FashFest events next time! The ticket was £25 for this particular event (some of the others were more expensive.)

London Fashion Week September 2014 - Sunday the 14th

Jacket: River Island
Top: Primark
Shorts: Topshop
Clutch: Primark
Necklace: Forever 21
Rings: Topshop
Earrings: Primark
Nails: 280 London's Weather Forecast by Catrice Cosmetics
Lips: Chanel 'Coco Rouge' lipstick in Coco Felin

Hello,

It was my second day at LFW today and the weather was looking quite cheerful when I woke up, so I opted for this outfit. However, the sunshine was a bit hit and miss throughout the day but I should have expected that, really...

I absolutely love these shorts; they fit me very well and I only paid a tenner for them in the Topshop sale, which is amazing. I really tried to avoid the monochrome look today and I suppose I did manage to add a bit of variation, with the gold jewellery and pops of grey and nude. I also really like the lipstick I'm wearing, which is a Chanel one, so not as cheap as the Topshop shorts (!) but lovely nevertheless. It makes my lips look really full and there's something about the finish that is really beautiful. It stays on for a very long time, too.

Today I went to the Edeline Lee SS15 presentation and I have to say, I was really impressed. I really love all the pieces the designer put together and I especially liked how she drew inspiration from interior design, which showed in how her presentation was laid out. I'll insert some pics here...

To see my article on the Edeline Lee presentation, it will be up soon on Stilorama.com...

'Til next time!
