Smashbox Full Exposure eyeshadow palette: First Impressions

Hi lovelies,

I feel very sad to say that my love for eyeshadow has petered out over the past year or so. Actually, it's not that I don't enjoy wearing eyeshadow, it's just that I'm rather lazy and I take enough time doing my make-up as it is without blending an assortment of different colours onto my eyelids as well! Having said that, I do make the effort for special occasions and am always on the lookout for a good mix of neutral colours that aren't too time-consuming to work with.

My Mum (who hardly ever wears make-up) recently purchased this Smashbox palette. I was impressed, so decided to do a quick review because I haven't done a review for a long while...

As you can see, the Smashbox Full Exposure palette comes with 14 different eyeshadows. The eyeshadows are technically parallels of one another (basically, for each matte eyeshadow there is its glittery equivalent.) The colours are a really nice mix of browns, taupes and of course, black. I think it's a good idea to have both the glittery and the matte shadows because you can switch up your look on different days and play around with different looks.
(By the way, is it just me, or is the packaging really nice?)

The colours are very pigmented, which is awesome. I was happily impressed with the black, because black is always a colour that I think determines the strength of the palette (look at me getting all technical!)
The product also comes with a dual-ended make-up brush and a mini mascara. In total, it all came to £36. Personally, I don't like paying a lot for my eyeshadows because I think that you can find really good ones for very cheap. However, when you consider that there is a full-size brush and mini mascara, it isn't too bad. Plus, it's Smashbox!

Perhaps I'll try a make-up look using some of these eyeshadows? :)
